Ghostwind Appaloosas

Welcome to Greenwood Ranch; we have recently relocated to east central Saskatchewan on 320 acres of gently rolling ranch land. Our horses represent the results of notable foundation breeders who have worked diligently their entire lives for the preservation of the Appaloosa.

We thank Irene Smith from Hi Mountain Hollow in Cohocton, New York for her advice and our start in the foundation world with HMH Phantom Spirit, our senior herd stallion, and for HMH Untraceable, our adventurous spotted blue roan filly.

We now go to Moses Lake, Washington and the Messer family of TALHR and the addition of a truly well named mare, Lady Magnificent. We went looking for her daughter Lady Galahad’s Ebony and we came back with both dam and filly and new born few spot colt. The advice and the sheer amount of historical data we received from you will help us with the continuation of your passion Jerry, thanks.

We travel again to Manhattan, Montana and the home of Dick and Martha Vanderby. Dick and his family have been breeding app x app horses for the past 50 years and we were very lucky to be at the right place and time and we came home with 4 foundation mares and one gelding. A great big thank you for the history and the stories as they are invaluable to those of us who want to continue with what you have been doing your entire lives. We wish we could have brought them all back with us Dick!
