The Diverse Art of Val Moker
Val and I became friends a number of years ago. We would run into each other at different times as we share the same profession, teaching. We also share a passion for horses, but from different perspectives. Val is an artist and I’m a breeder. So of course what did we talk about when we met; horses of course. We would talk art and horses and one thing led to another and we discussed her doing a logo for our business.
She came out to the ranch with her husband and she brought her camera. The result is the acrylic painting of Apache Kid Galahad and Apache Solar Dancer entitled Sentinels. The image has become our logo for our ranch and website. We also, at the Mokers’ suggestion, had the image put on the side of our horse trailer and as you can see the result is fabulous.

Victoria Turner
Victoria Turner is a John Lyons Certified trainer who lives on a 7,000 acre working cattle ranch in Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan. Certified by John Lyons in his first certification group in 1994; she has been using his methods on her hunter/jumper, roping, ranching, eventing, hunting and driving horses, in her day to day schooling program.
In 2004 she was side saddle champion at the Friesian Extravaganza in Ogden, Utah.
In 2005 she was the recipient of the Audience Choice Award at the “Horse Whispering in The Kootenays” colt starting competition.
Victoria is an avid competitor and breeder of competitive jumping horses and she is also a member of Studbook Zangersheide of Belgium, Masters of Foxhound Association of America, Saskatchewan Horse Federation, Saskatchewan Hunter/Jumper Association and AQHA. Her trained horses have sold to discriminating buyers in Canada, Mexico, Chicago and Las Vegas.
